NAACP and Abortion: Not Exactly the Gettysburg Address
8.19.2004

WASHINGTON, DC—“If Lincoln’s Gettysburg address was one of the greatest speeches ever made, one of the worst would have to be that given by Kwesei Mfume,” said Thomas Strobhar, chairman of the board of Life Decisions International.

Mfume, president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), re-writes biblical history, insults Catholic University and Catholics in general, and declares that Pope John Paul II is guilty of the “crime of silence!”

Mfume offers all of this in a heated style with enough grammatical errors to make a grade school teacher cringe. “It’s bizarre, funny and ultimately sad,” Strobhar said. It is also clear that NAACP officials are rather confused about their position and activity relating to abortion.
