Thankfully, Planned Parenthood Doesn't Sell Bullet-Proof Vests
1.4.2005

WASHINGTON, D.C.--Douglas R. Scott, president of Life Decisions International (LDI), today blasted the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) hierarchy for its "self-serving and callous disregard for the health and the very lives of America's youth." The statement was made after the release of a Consumer Reports study which found that PPFA brand condoms are among the worst in the highly lucrative industry.

Consumer Reports evaluated 23 kinds of latex condoms. PPFA's "lollipop" flavored condom ranked 14th in the study. The abortion-committing behemoth's assorted colors condoms placed 22nd. And PPFA's honeydew flavored condoms ranked dead last.

Consumer Reports ratings are based on "condom strength and predicted performance in actual use as assessed by tests using an air-inflation machine." A total of 120 samples of each model were tested, except for the PPFA honeydew condom, the initial failure of which led to a retest of a larger sample of 500.

Consumer Reports offered some advice in its February 2005 edition: "If you obtain condoms from Planned Parenthood, avoid the low-rated scented Honeydew and Assorted Colors varieties."

In its brochure, "The Truth About Condoms," PPFA blames those who promote an "abstinence-until-marriage agenda" for obstructing "public health efforts toward increased condom use in the U.S for most of the 20th century."

"Planned Parenthood's highly paid employees should be ashamed," Scott said. "It is clear that the Planned Parenthood hierarchy is more concerned with making money than protecting the lives of young people."

"Planned Parenthood claims to have prevented the 'need' for abortion by pushing birth control," Scott continued. "It is evident that Planned Parenthood is the equivalent of a doctor that owns a funeral home on the side. If he doesn't cure you, he will be glad to take your money to bury you. In the case of Planned Parenthood, when the condom fails, they are happy to take your money to kill your preborn child."

PPFA, which is rapidly approaching $1 billion in annual revenue, committed at least 255,015 surgical abortions at its own facilities in 2004(up 4.3 percent from 2003). "Maybe the increase in abortions is not due solely to the fact that Planned Parenthood pushes the act as nothing more than having a tooth pulled," Scott said. "Maybe the increase is because Planned Parenthood sells condoms that are bound to fail."

Scott said that PPFA claims that it is cares about the health of people is "merely lip-service that is designed to make money." He said there is no telling how many people have contracted sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, because of Planned Parenthood's negligence and carelessness. "Of course, this assumes that Planned Parenthood was unaware that its product is of such poor quality," Scott said. "If Planned Parenthood leaders were aware, they are guilty of a criminal act." Scott suggested that the federal government investigate the matter.

"Let's just be thankful Planned Parenthood doesn't sell bullet-proof vests," Scott said.
