Quinlan's Coffee Service (Portland, Oregon)
I have repeatedly emailed and called your outfit to remove my name from your terrorist list. I sold Quinlan's Coffee Service 5 years ago. We do not support Planned Parenthood, we did their coffee service and they paid for it just like everybody else. We do not become involved in the politics of every account that we service. If we did, we would of gone out of business. So before you go running around screaming foul, you better see who you add to your list. Quinlan's Coffee Service does not exist anymore and if this harassment continues I will be contacting my attorneys.

LDI COMMENT: While we have not received "repeated" e-mails or calls from this company, we were confused about one thing Quinlan had written. He claimed Quinlan's Coffee Service was sold five years ago, yet the donation to Planned Parenthood in the name of the company was made three years ago. We asked Quinlan for a clarification of this statement. We also let Quinlan know that we did not consider our letters "harassment" and that he was free to contact his lawyers at any time. (We wonder if officials at First Choice Services know Quinlan is dragging their company into this controversy. Maybe it was First Choice that purchased Quinlan's Coffee Service?)

I doubt highly that Quinlan's made a donation three years ago. Your letters have prompted phone calls and emails asking to remove Quinlan's from your bullshit list of donators only to get more letters. That is harassment fuckface and if you don't understand that perhaps you should not occupy your place of employment. So go smoke a joint and sit around with other save the world losers and bitch about what is wrong with the world instead of going out and getting a real job and do something to improve the world. LDI COMMENT: Davis is referring to our letter reminding him that Rick Davis Photography is a boycott target due to its support of Planned Parenthood. We are not sure how this can be a "threat" when the company has been a boycott target for quite some time.
Claiming that another donation will be sent to Planned Parenthood because of the boycott is a typical trick. It will not deter our efforts.
"Hate"? We challenge Davis to point to anything we have written or said that could even remotely (and honestly) be considered hateful. Doing so would simply be impossible. If Davis wants to talk about hate, he should look at the groups he is personally supporting.

Hi. My name is Tess Collins and I own the tavern at 453 Madison Avenue. I got a blackmail letter from you doodling something about Planned Parenthood. I couldn't believe it; how disgusting it is. I've never given Planned Parenthood money but I would like you to put me on the list anyway. They've had a party at my place because it's down the street. I want you to put me on the list because if this is the way you guys are going to behave--I have a very strong spiritual background and I don't want anybody from your company to come to my place. What you're doing is disgusting to me. I'm filing this letter with my lawyer so that if anything happens I will sue you. Like I said, I don't give donations to Planned Parenthood, but you can put me on the list anyway. You disgust me. My name is Tess Collins. My number is 518-212-8702. You can file that!

LDI COMMENT: "Blackmail?" We have not demanded money. We have even said the business is free to support any organizations its owner(s) choose. But pro-life people have a right to information so they do not inadvertently help the business do so. Collins said she has a "strong spiritual background" but this apparently means it is okay to fund groups that kill God's creation so long as she's (unjustifiably) upset about the text of a letter she received. (Not exactly an example of commitment to her "spirituality.") Finally, if Tess' Lark Tavern does not support Planned Parenthood, why does Planned Parenthood say the company does so?

LDI COMMENT: Needless-to-say, Collins did not mention how she came to the conclusion that we are "bigoted." She did not happen to say with which parts of Planned Parenthood's agenda she disagrees. Collins implies that she is supporting Planned Parenthood merely because we have "harassed" her (wrote to her about the support for Planned Parenthood). Does this mean Collins will be putting a sign in the window of her business that reads, "PRO-LIFERS NOT SERVED HERE"? Now just who is a bigot?

Received your letter dated December 1, 2004 regarding your threatening actions. As you are not aware, I also donate to religious causes and churches. Due to your letter, I will no longer assist these groups and refer them to your letter with copies to each group. I will give your information to each and let them discuss their reaction with you. LDI COMMENT: There is a thread that runs through most of the letters we receive from those who oppose our work. "Because you are boycotting corporate supporters of Planned Parenthood, I'm going to stop supporting good organizations." This ploy is as common as it is fruitless. Anyone who stops supporting worthy causes because LDI will boycott them for doing evil deeds is personally responsible for the decision. We will not be deterred by this, um, "threat."
